Usually because we Mexicans spent a lot of money during December due Christmas gifts and spending in our Holidays we don´t have money in January so many restaurants and attractions tend to be empty.

WEATHER

  • Great weather
  • Clear air

THINGS TO CONSIDER

I like January´s weather but you´ll need to consider that Mexico City is known because we can have the 4 seasons in a day, and in January it tends to be cold at night and early morning so it would be wise to bring a good jacket or some sweaters to dress in layers because during the day it´s hot and dry.

COOL THINGS TO DO AND SEE

  • Taste Rosca de Reyes and participate in this tradition, we eat an ring oval shaped pastry or cake covered with sugar and crystalized fruit, inside they hide plastic baby Jesus and the one who finds it would have to pay for tamales at another festivity in February. We usually eat this with hot chocolate and you´ll be able to dins it at every bakery shoP. The traditional day to eat this is on January 5th at night, and it´s more a family thing than a public celebration, you can buy one and eat it at your hotel with your travel companions. You´ll be able to find this bread until January 10th max.
  • Enjoy the sales – Nearly every shop in Mexico has amazing sales sometimes even 70% off if you love shopping this would be great for you.
