This is an amazing store if you’re looking for authentic Mexican indigenous artisanal crafts. They work with more than 1500 different artisans from all over the country and purchase their items under Fair Trade standards.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT?
I have a personal thing and deep-intense love for Kitsch art, so this is one of the most inspirational city spots for me: Luchadores, textiles, skulls, Virgen de Guadalupe, and flowers = Joy and incredible color saturation. But, if you are not a kitsch fan like me, you can also find beautiful elegant one color pieces, perfect for classy home decoration: black clay sculptures, hand-woven pillow covers, etc.
There’s a MAP museum at the historic center (one of my favorites), there, you can see some of the most amazing artisanal craft pieces of Mexico made by the best popular art masters from all over the country.
